Qatar Airways aims for 25 per cent stake in Virgin Australia

The venture would see Australia's second largest aviation player, Virgin Australia, sell a 25 per cent stake to Gulf carrier, Qatar Airways. The transaction, still subject to approval, would allow Virgin to return to long-haul international flying by mid-next year. That would open new routes for travellers and make it a formidable competitor for Qantas.
