QLD police ban use of heavily criticised spit hoods

: Queensland police have announced they're banning the use of spit hoods in the state's watchhouses, following a similar move in South Australia last year. The devices are designed to stop people in custody biting or spitting on officers, but have been heavily criticised due to safety concerns.
