The ABC and SBS have defended their reporting on the conflict in Gaza at the Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion. Australia's special envoy to combat antisemitism, Jillian Segal, told the public hearing the broadcasters' coverage had contributed to anti-Jewish hate by conflating Jewish identity with the actions of the Israeli state.
