Seals face ‘very high risk’ of bird flu infection

There are grave concerns for Australia's seal population after a second suspected case of H5 bird flu along the South Australian coast. The bird flu was detected in a dead long-nosed fur seal in The Pages Conservation Park off Kangaroo Island. It was found just days after a seal at Beachport was also confirmed to have been carrying the virus.
