With Sri Lanka’s economy in dire straits, those who rely on its tourism industry are urging international visitors not to stay away for too long. Tourism was one of Sri Lanka’s main sources of revenue and locals are hoping its ranking as one of the world’s great getaways survives the current crisis. SBS Asia Correspondent Aaron Fernandes has been in Sri Lanka and filed this report from Hikkaduwa, a seaside resort town in the country's south west.
