Sydney Buddhists celebrate Buddha's 2569th birthday

A record number of Australia’s Korean community gathered at a temple in Sydney, joining half a billion Buddhists worldwide in celebrating Buddha’s Birthday. The South Korean public holiday is also one of the most significant dates in the Lunar calendar for communities across east, south, and south-east Asia, with each country bringing its own unique traditions.
