Tasmanian Police officer killed on duty identified as 25-year veteran Keith Smith

Tasmania Police have identified an officer killed in the state’s north-west. The officer was shot while attending a home in a rural area to serve a warrant for the repossession of a house. It's the first fatal shooting of a Tasmania Police officer in over one hundred years. The man who allegedly shot him remains in police custody in hospital and is yet to be charged.
