The government’s National AI Plan prioritises economic opportunities of AI with safety laws delayed

The Federal Government has released a long-awaited national plan to guide the development of artificial intelligence in Australia. The roadmap focuses on the economic benefits that AI could bring and says existing laws will cover the fast-growing technology. But critics say the plan lacks sufficient protection from potential risks.
