Visa backlog nears one million as industries grapple with staff shortages

Influential business lobby groups have come forward to call on the Federal Government to strongly consider increasing the migration cap, to combat the intensifying skills shortage. The Immigration Minister has told SBS migration will be the key to economic growth and he's promised to fast-track work on assessing the visa backlog.
