Both leaders have been pressed on their economic credentials as the election campaign drills down on whether spending could damage Australia’s credit rating. New York-based S&P Global Ratings Agency issued the warning that big-ticket commitments from both major parties including on health, cost-of living, education, energy, and housing, could threaten Australia’s AAA credit rating.
