Worse than COVID: life satisfaction hits a new low

New data from the Australian National University has shown that most Australians believe life was better 50 years ago, and on average people are more dissatisfied now than they were during COVID-19 lockdowns. Against the backdrop of the war in the Middle East, and the financial impacts of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the latest ANUpoll survey has recorded its lowest ever average life satisfaction outcome. And, for the first time, there are more people dissatisfied with the direction of the country than satisfied
