Wife-killer Borce Ristevski returns to Victorian court after explosive admission

Borce Ristevski, who has admitted to the manslaughter of his wife Karen, will face the Supreme Court of Victoria on Wednesday for a pre-sentence plea hearing.

Borce Ristevski will return to court on Wednesday after his explosive admission earlier this month that he killed his Melbourne wife.

For two years after he killed 47-year-old Karen, Ristevski claimed he had nothing to do with her death.

The now-55-year-old carried his wife's coffin at her funeral and earlier stood beside his daughter Sarah, making a public appeal for information about then-missing Karen.

But on March 13 this year, after a Supreme Court judge ruled that prosecutors couldn't rely on Ristevski's post-offence conduct to prove murderous intent, he pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter.

After his wife's death, Ristevski shoved her body in the back of her Mercedes Benz, drove towards Macedon Regional Park and turned off both their phones on the way.

He also dumped his wife's body between two logs in a forest before covering her in branches.

The body was not found for almost eight months until Ms Ristevski's skeletal remains were located by a pair of horticulturalists.

An autopsy could not determine the cause of her death.

Ristevski was charged with murder in December 2017 after a lengthy investigation that involved listening devices and CCTV footage analysis.

He is due to face Justice Christopher Beale on Wednesday for a pre-sentence plea hearing.
