Amini excited by new challenge at Randers

Australia U-23 midfielder Mustafa Amini has sealed a three-year deal with Danish high-flier Randers FC, where he will link up with Olyroos goalkeeper Jack Duncan next season.

After four years at Borussia Dortmund, where he was on the bench four times in the UEFA Champions League but never made a senior appearance, Amini has headed north in search of regular game time to further his national teams ambitions – and put himself in the running for the Socceroos’ FIFA 2018 World Cup qualification campaign.

While he believes he has improved immeasurably since heading to Germany from Central Coast Mariners, Amini, feels now is the time for him to step up and show he can thrive in a first-team environment.

“I’m just happy to be here and looking forward to playing each week for a club which has a lot of ambition,” the 22 year-old said.

“I’m here to stamp my name on Danish football … the new journey begins.”

Randers finished fourth in the Danish Superliga and Amini will be in action as early as next month when the club enters the qualifying rounds for the Europa League.

“It’s a great Amini's agent, Buddy Farah, said.

“It’s time for him to go to the next stage of his career and he will continue to grow.”

Amini linkes up with Duncan, who signed for Randers in May, from Perth Glory, to compete for the No.1 goalkeeping spot.
