Cadel Evans' Tour de France triumph not lost on Aussies young and old

Cycling fans of all ages have expressed their admiration for Cadel Evans, 10 years on from the Australian's incredible Tour de France triumph.

Evans is the only Australian to ever win cycling's biggest race after usurping rivals Andy and Frank Schleck on the penultimate stage of the 2011 Tour.

It is an achievement that will live long in the hearts and minds of supporters near and far, not to mention their social media accounts.

Twitter has been flooded with tributes to Cuddles over the past few weeks, with fans young and old looking back on the moment using the hashtag "CadelTDF10".

We, too, at Cycling Central have remembered Evans' extraordinary feat, with the release of a 20-part series documenting his story.
