After Valencia agreed to sell the 25-year-old gloveman to the Seagulls for $9 million, only personal terms now remain to be hammered out.
And sources in the UK suggest that Ryan's reported four-year deal will be worth $12 million before taxes in a bonanza for Australia's number one.
While negotiations are on-going, it's likely that agreement will be reached as Ryan - currently on Socceroos duty in Australia - prepares to be the club's starting keeper next season.
Coach Chris Hughton turned to Ryan after being impressed with his form on loan at Genk earlier this year as he sought game time after dropping out of contention with Los Che.
He will fill the void left by departing David Stockdale, 31, who was demanding $90,000-a-week to stay on the South Coast as his contract wound down.
It's believed he could be on his way to Chelsea as back up to Thibaut Courtois, with Leeds also keen.
While Ryan already has one foot inside the Amex Stadium, fellow Socceroo James Troisi's prospects of joining him in the seaside town have dimmed.
The club have been discussions with the much-travelled attacker who is out of contract after a starring stint with Melbourne Victory last season.
But the parties have as yet been unable to agree personal terms.
Hughton worked with Troisi when they were both at Newcastle United, and has been a long-time admirer of the 27-year-old.
He first sought to sign him on loan for Norwich City when Troisi was jointly owned by Juventus and Atlanta back in 2013.
