SBS On Demand is the place to watch the 2026 edition of La Vuelta Femenina, with every stage streaming LIVE from May 3-9.

The race is back in 2026 with seven stages through Spain, culminating in a summit finish finale atop the fearsome Alto de l'Angliru for the first time - a climb which has tested the legs of riders in multiple editions of the men's Vuelta.

Demi Vollering took her second straight title with a triumphant victory at the summit of the Alto de Cotobello in last year's edition, but won't be returning in 2026 after opting to race the Giro d'Italia instead, which takes place from May 30 - June 7 (which you can watch live and free on SBS VICELAND and SBS On Demand).

That means that in 2026, La Vuelta Femenina will have a new winner for the first time in five years - with Vollering having won the last two and the now-retired Annemiek van Vleuten taking the previous three before her.

Among the favourites to become a first-time winner will be Australian Sarah Gigante (AG Insurance-Soudal), who will be making a long-awaited return from injury after lighting up the Giro d'Italia and Tour de France Femmes in 2025, where she finished third and sixth overall respectively.

Gigante has been sidelined since last August after breaking her femur in a crash while training shortly after the Tour de France Femmes.

She will be up against the likes of Tour de France Femmes winners Pauline Ferrand-Prevot (Visma Lease-a-Bike) and Kasia Niewiadoma (Canyon-SRAM) as well as Anna van der Breggen (SD Worx) who was third overall in last year's Vuelta.
