SailGP has announced a renewed partnership with SBS for the 2026 season, with not one, but two live rounds this year as Perth joins Sydney as a stop on the competition's global circuit.
The inaugural edition of the Oracle Perth Sail Grand Prix will be broadcast live on SBS and SBS On Demand from January 19-20, while the KPMG Australia Sail Grand Prix Sydney will be shown live on SBS VICELAND and SBS On Demand from February 28-March 1.
The remainder of the season will be broadcast in the form of a dedicated highlights programme on SBS and via catch-up on SBS On Demand.
Fremantle Harbour will be the spot where the 2026 SailGP season kicks off, with the Oracle Perth Sail Grand Prix the first of thirteen events around the world where thousands of fans will witness the fastest sailing boats in the sport go head-to-head.
It will be the first of two chances for Tom Slingsby and the Flying Roos to win a race in home waters, and they'll be hoping they can make their mark on a new battleground in Perth before the focus turns to breaking a two-year winning drought in Sydney, where Spain and Great Britain took the honours in 2024 and 2025 respectively.
As well as their victory at the KPMG Australia Sail Grand Prix Sydney, Great Britain landed a double blow to the Australian team in 2025 by beating Slingsby and his crew to the overall SailGP title in the season finale in Abu Dhabi.
