President Biden's exercise bike a security risk in White House

Joe Biden may have to find another way to stay fit at the White House, as security experts worry the president's Peloton interactive fitness bike could create security risks.

Peloton is a brand of exercise bike that comes with an inbuilt screen that allows users to watch the instructor-led classes from their homes, in theory getting the gym experience from home.

Some of Peloton's signature features -- internet connectivity, a camera and microphone that allow users to participate in live classes -- could prove problematic for White House security.
As well as watching an instructor conduct a live session, participants in the classes are also able to be viewed – meaning the tablet comes equipped with a webcam and a microphone, which will be a sensitive topic in the context of security in the White House.

The bike is an expensive piece of equipment, retailing at two and half thousand Australian dollars, and then it's another 50 dollars a month for the subscription to the classes.
It is not the first time the issue of Peloton bike security has been raised. A 2017 review revealed that former first lady Michelle Obama had been supplied with a specially modified Peloton that came without a camera or microphone.

The newly inaugurated President of the United States also rides regularly on the road and has been pictured a number of times on rides with his wife, Dr Jill Biden.
