Michael Matthews broke through for his first 2025 win at Eschborn-Frankfurt, while Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney and Jonas Vingegaard gear up for key summer targets with strong teams and fresh ambition. Big wins, resets, and ambitions set the stage for a thrilling summer of racing.

Michael Matthews finally sealed his first win of 2025 at Eschborn-Frankfurt, outsprinting Magnus Cort to cap a long-awaited triumph after near-misses in past editions. Jayco-AlUla played it smart, attacking on the mid-race climb to thin the bunch and set Matthews up perfectly. Early breakaways were caught, and Matthews credited his team’s flawless execution for the win.

Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney heads to La Vuelta Femenina in a support role for Canyon-SRAM zondacrypto after a demanding spring campaign without wins but consistent top-10s. She’s eager to back GC leader Neve Bradbury alongside a stacked team including Chloé Dygert and Maike van der Duin. The race kicks off May 4 and finishes with a brutal summit at Cotobello.

Jonas Vingegaard is back on the big climbs, reconning key Pyrenean stages ahead of the Tour de France after recovering from a concussion. He’s dialled in on reclaiming yellow and will race the Critérium du Dauphiné before an altitude camp. Expect fireworks as he readies to face off with Tadej Pogačar in July.
