Queer fans of the DC Universe are in for a real treat, with news that we'll soon be getting our first ever openly gay supervillain in the form of Black Mask.

The character, a crime lord of Gotham City, is set to make his debut in the upcoming Birds of Prey movie, inspired by the comic series of the same name, and will be played by Ewan McGregor.

According to We Got This Covered, Black Mask will be portrayed as gay, with ongoing sexual tension between him and fellow DC bad-guy Victor Zsasz, who also features in the film.
Other characters who will feature in Birds of Prey include Harley Quinn, played by Aussie Margot Robbie, and Black Canary, played by Jurnee Smollett-Bell.

Distributed by Warner Bros., the movie is expected to be released in early 202.
