Rapper Cardi B has revealed in an interview that she was sexually assaulted by a photographer during a magazine photo-shoot.
The revelation came during an interview with radio presenter, Angie Martinez on the premiere of American pay TV channel 'WE' new show, Untold Stories of Hip-Hop.
In a clip of the interview uploaded by Entertainment Tonight, Cardi B tells Martinez, "I will never forget how I went to shoot for this magazine and like the photographer, he was just like tryin' to get close to me like, 'Yeah you wanna get into this magazine?' Then he pulled his d*** out."
When she reported the incident to the magazine owner, "He just looked at me like, 'So? And?'" she said.
Cardi said experiences like hers are not uncommon.
"When I see the Me Too movement there's girls from the hood, I know that they went through the same type of treatment. It happens really every day."
On whether she still experiences harassment at this point in her career, the rapper said, "Oh hell no, I put you on blast on my Instagram".
Until earlier this week, Cardi B's song Bodak Yellow held the record for the longest running number one US Billboard song by a solo female rap artist.
The record was broken by Lizzo, who stars alongside her in new movie Hustlers set to be released in Australia next month.
