The Spice Girls are back!
The iconic 90's girl group finally put longstanding rumours to rest today, announcing a six-part tour of the UK in 2019, with possible international dates to follow.
However, there will be one small change to the iconic five-piece band, with Victoria Beckham - AKA Posh Spice - deciding to sit the tour out, possible to focus on her endeavors in fashion.
“Being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish my girls so much love and fun as they go back on tour,” Beckham said in a statement following the band's announcement.
She added: “I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time!”
Regardless, fans took to social media to express their excitement at the news - with some vocally disappointed at Beckham's decision not to be involved.
For many, the Spice Girls are remembered as gay icons, with Victoria Beckham and Geri Halliwell ranking in the Top 50 gay icons of all time - determined by a survey of over 5,000 gay men and women in the UK.
Emma Bunton acknowledged the group's sizeable gay following during an interview in 2005, saying the group was inherently open-minded.
"I'm so flattered that we've got such a huge gay following, it's amazing," she said.
UK pop singer Jess Glynne will be the support act for the new foursome's upcoming stadium tour, the tickets for which range from $110 to $525.
