It’s Spain v Argentina for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Final this Monday morning (AEST) and – apart from the scoreline – billions of eyes will be on the unprecedented music show set for the extended 25-minute half-time break.
If you’re not in it for the football (why not?) and really just want the Halftime Show, SBS On Demand will also stream it separately from 5.50am AEST, in addition to its inclusion in the main broadcast.
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has curated an 11-minute set from the USA’s Madonna, Colombia’s Shakira performing with Nigeria’s Burna Boy, Canada’s Justin Bieber and South Korea’s BTS.
Characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets will also take part. FIFA intends the show to help raise US$100 million for its children’s charity, the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
Accompanying the performance, Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel will lead both the USA’s New York Philharmonic and Venezuela’s Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra.
