Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd reunited for a fun Toyota commercial about the accuracy of 'Back to the Future'

All in the name of Back To The Future Day.

Given it's October 21, 2015, a.k.a. Back to the Future Day, the film franchise is enjoying a nice, topical comeback. So much so that Toyota put together this cute teaser of the saga's two heroes, Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox, assessing how accurate the movies were. Turns out they were fairly accurate (even considering fax machines).
Toyota's spot comes as a heads-up for a longer, five-minute clip, which will debut on the automaker's website on the 21st (U.S. time), in honour of the movie's time jumpaccording to Adweek. "Over the years we've had a lot of fun predicting which Back to the Future fictional 2015 technology would arrive by the real year," Fox said in a statement released to the media. This reunion is all reportedly part of a campaign (head here for more info) to strategically advertise the car company's forthcoming hydrogen fuel-cell technology, which is, yep, a variation of a BTTF prediction (it powers their Mirai model, as a nod to the DeLorean).
The above commercial was coincidentally posted the same day Lloyd toldTHR he'd theoretically be up for filming a fourth. "It's tough to come up with an idea that contains the excitement of the original three," said Lloyd, who played Dr. Emmett Brown and stressed he'd only do it if the other original team members were involved. "So it would be a real challenge for the writers to come up with an original Back to the Future story that has the same passion and intensity and excitement as the other three. But it could be done, you never know."
