All of a sudden, there’s so much more to love about SBS On Demand: today we’re launching a brand new look and online streaming experience, and an expanded library of feature documentaries, first-run dramas and premium movies from around the world.
The site has been redesigned to be flexible and fully responsive, which means that it will automatically readjust to fit to the size of your screen. Trust us, this will make the world of difference when watching a movie on your smartphone or tablet.
We know you’re loving the 600+ free movies we have available to watch anytime, so we’re expanding the catalogue to include 350 documentaries at the new-look, easy to use SBS On Demand.
When the truth is stranger than fiction, you’ll find it within our 350 fascinating real life documentaries. We’ve got Oscar winners like Searching For Sugarman, and new films from celebrated storyteller Alex Gibney.
In the coming months, we’ll be introducing new movie collections to our specialty lists, to help you seek out the movies that suit your mood. Some of the premieres you can look forward to include: A Best In the World Collection, featuring Danish thriller The Hunt and Australian award-winner The Rocket; Martial Arts Mayhem with The Way of the Dragon and IP Man; the best of French cinema with crowd pleasers Amelie and Cannes contenders like Rust and Bone in a specialised French Film Collection; and a New York indie vibe with Lena Dunham’s Tiny Furniture and Frances Ha. If you’re not sure what takes your fancy, you can just dive into the library and visit favourites like Exit Through The Gift Shop, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Touching the Void, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Pan’s Labyrinth, Let the Right One in, and many, many, many more.
We haven’t forgotten our premium drama, either. Over the coming months, you’ll be able to watch season three of our ground breaking hit Rectify as we rush it from the US and premiere it at SBS On Demand, months before it screens on television. You’ll also get your first glimpse at the launch episode of our new super series Bosch and the new season of Masters of Sex. And you’ll be able to stream episodes of upcoming series such as The Principal, 12 Monkeys and Glue, in case you miss an episode on SBS and need to catch up.
