In true blue Aussie form, Quentin Tarantino, famous film director and self-professed lover of a frosty beverage, is to be honoured with his very own, Hateful Eight-themed specialty brew.

In a stroke of marketing genius to coincide with the home entertainment release of The Hateful Eight on May 25, Roadshow Entertainment have partnered with 4 Pines Brewing Co. to produce The Hateful Ale, an 8% Belgian Tripel which will be available on a limited run at select venues.

Like the film, the ale is said to be not for the faint-hearted, with the tasting notes describing the beer as having "as much kick as a civil war era shotgun".

It carries flavours of nut, banana and clove, which sounds rather fancy for the director who, while in Australia on the press tour for The Hateful Eight earlier this year, waxed lyrical about his love for our very own humble Victoria Bitters tinnies, prompting VB to present him with his own personalised cans.
You may need to get in quick to get a taste of The Hateful Ale, as the limited-edition beer will surely attract the attention of the hordes of Tarantino die-hards, who lead The Hateful Eight to Australian box-office glory earlier this year.

The ale will be available from May 25 at limited venues, such as 4 Pines Brew Pub (Manly), 4 Pines Truck Bar (Brookvale) and The Wild Rover in Surry Hills.
