Stunning Balkan holiday hotspot Croatia has opted to send one of its most successful recording artists to compete in Kyiv. With 13 albums under his belt, Jacques Houdek, dubbed Mr Voice, is Croatian music royalty and one of the revered mentors on The Voice Croatia.

Commencing with a spoken quote of Albert Einstein’s (OK, then), 'My Friends' is a cheesy yet earnest track that slips between lines sung in Italian with operatic flair and lines sung in English in a more contemporary pop style.

A lifelong fan of Eurovision, Houdek describes 'My Friends' as an anthem of respect and believes he can “heal people with his voice”. “I’m a very big guy,” he confesses, “but I really believe my heart is even bigger." Big guy, big voice, but could 'My Friends' be a big mistake?
