The artists of Eurovision 2017: Naviband – “Story of My Life” (Belarus)

Their song might have an English title, but this folk duo will sing in their native tongue.

There’s nothing glitzy or gimmicky about the Belarusian entry, Naviband. The duo, consisting of vocalist Ksenia Zhuk and guitarist/composer Artem Lukyanenko, are grounded in folksy charm. The whimsy and undeniable joy of “Story of My Life” is counterbalanced by the fact this entry will be the first to be sung in Belarusian at the contest.

This is a big responsibility for the duo who, despite their national popularity, are on record as saying they’re humbled at representing their country. It’s hard not to be swept up in the hippy-indie charm of the two but will it translate to enough votes to see them frolicking out of the semi-final forest?
