Hungary should maintain its grand final streak with a song reflecting both the performer's heritage and the modern musical landscape.

35-year-old Hungarian Joci Pápai is proud to be the first gypsy to represent his country at the Eurovision Song Contest. Pápai won the right following a convincing victory at A Dal 2017Hungary’s national selection competition, where he topped both the jury and public votes.

With Hungary having qualified for the final every year since 2011, the responsibility is a big one and Pápai's “Origo” will stand out due to its originality. “Origo” is a fusion of traditional Hungarian gypsy music combined with contemporary electronic beats and rap. Bold, original and hypnotic, it should ensure Hungary’s recent good run of qualification success won’t be broken this year.
