Hold onto your helmets, Vikings fans, because SBS has some fantastic news for you.
In the spirit of spreading festive cheer, SBS are making the first episode of the season 4 mid-season return of Vikings available to stream on SBS on Demand from Christmas Day. The series returns to television on SBS Wednesday 11 January at 8:30pm. Episodes will, of course, also be available to watch online after broadcast on SBS on Demand.

So, what can we expect from the series return? The critics weigh in:
Stacy Glanzman (TV Fanatic) was enthused broadly about the series return:
The midseason premiere set us up for the rest of Vikings Season 4, and it looks like we'll be in for plenty more of the action and violence we've come to expect...
Laura Prudom (Mashable) was drawn into the drama created by the time jump revealed in the finale of the first half of the season:
The episode is a painful one in terms of showing just how much Ragnar has changed since Rollo bested him in battle
Dave Vitagliano (Den of Geeek) offered these words of comfort for those disappointed by the production decision to split the season:
After the long hiatus, Vikings return does not disappoint. Now that we’re here, splitting the twenty episode season appears to be a brilliant strategic move with plenty of time to revisit a number of storylines...
As the series returns, Ragnar returns to Kattegat as an emotionally wounded man after years of a self-exile. He will try to regain the love & respect of his sons.
We. Cannot. Wait.
Vikings season 4, part 2 returns Wednesday 11 January on SBS at 8:30pm.
