Ms Eleni Papagiannopoulou, the Greek language Advisor at the New South Wales Department of Education speaks to Dimitrios Kametopoulos about this initiative which is a result of the cooperation between the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki of Macedonia and the Greek Language Centre. Students who take part in this examination may be invited to take part on a cultural tour of the Chalcidice peninsula of the Macedonia region in the Greek summer. The 2nd Olympiad of the Modern Greek language helps Greek learning worldwide and promotes the love of the language in the Hellenic Diaspora. It is taking place in January 2018 locally and then in the Homeland.
