Dr. Vijay Sivaraman is a professor at UNSW, Sydney. An IIT Delhi alumnus, Vijay is an expert in Network architectures. He was promoted to professor earlier this year and gave his inaugural professorial lecture recently where he explained what ailed our Internet.

Dr. Vijay Sivaraman lived in the US for almost twenty years before moving to Australia. He moved to the US for his post-graduation after receiving B.Tech from the IIT Delhi, in 1994. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles in 2000 and then worked for a tech start-up before moving to Australia in 2003.

And he is very happy with his decision. He explains, “Personally, I am very happy in Australia. The balance of life is good here in the sense that we are working hard but it is by choice. And the quality of life is much better here. Air is cleaner. It is great for kids to grow up. They enjoy life.”
