A movie based on the 2008 Mumbai attacks has been pulled from all New Zealand screens following the Christchurch mosque shootings.
Hotel Mumbai starring Dev Patel and Armie Hammer is an intense, documentary-style account of what happened during the Mumbai attacks which killed at least 174 people.
The film released in New Zealand on Thursday but was pulled down from the screens across New Zealand on Monday following Friday’s mosque shootings which left 50 people dead.
In a press release, Icon Film Distribution announced the suspension of the film saying they were removing the film from cinemas ‘out of respect for a country in mourning.’

They have also suspended all advertising around the film.
"After consultation with local exhibition partners, the decision was made to suspend the film out of respect for a country in mourning," they said.
