Daintree Rainforest

The Daintree Rainforest is a region located on the north east coast of Queensland. At around 1,200 square kilometres, the Daintree is the largest continuous area of tropical rainforest on the Australian continent. In 2009 as part of the Q150 celebrations, the Daintree Rainforest was announced as one of the Q150 Icons of Queensland for its role as a "Natural attraction". Geetha Mathivanan explains the uniqueness of Daintree Rainforest and its importance to the Aboriginal communities in “Namma Australia”.
