2. Pulled pork rolls with pickled veg and salsa (sandwich de chola)

Give your pulled pork a bit of fiery Latino lovin with this Bolivian sandwich. The pork gets an aromatic spice rub, and the pickled vege and tomato salsa get lively yellow habanero chillies, amongst a whole other lineup of spirited flavours.

4. Smoked and pulled Byron Bay Pork shoulder with chipotle

This recipe has a  double hit of smoke: smoky chipotles in adobo, and actual smoking. Don’t be scared by the smoking part though, you’ll just need to get your hands on some smoking chips and a kitchen blowtorch. Consider it upskilling.

7. Lexington pulled pork

Part of the cooking process for this pork involves intermittently basting it for 3 hours with apple juice and “red dip”, a tangy homemade concoction of vinegar, ketchup, hot sauce, cayenne, sugar, salt and pepper. Basically, it's a recipe for success.

9. Barbecued pulled pork with cauliflower cream

The sweet and neutral flavour of cauliflower is the perfect partner for this fragrant pulled pork. Plus, it’s lighter and a nice change from its mashed potato brethren.

10. Ross’s pulled pork

If you’re after that full South Carolina barbecue-style pulled pork, overnight molasses brine, dry rub and all, this is for you. If you have a kettle-style barbecue, use that for best results, if not, a roasting ban in an oven for 2-3 hours will do the job.

12. Tom Kerridge’s ale pulled pork sandwich

Soft brioche bun, pulled pork, mayonnaise, crunchy slaw. What more do you need to know? Ok, the pork is simmered in a sauce of dark ale, bay and sugar and there's also melted cheese and sauerkraut involved.
