Need a little sparkle in your life?
Last year it was rainbow everything but now the world seems to need a little more magic. And so we have unicorn cakes, unicorn popsicles, unicorn biscuits:
The brief for unicorn food seems to be: lots of sprinkles, heaps of sugar, even more glitter, a whole lot of colour, and of course - a unicorn horn.
Valentine Chandra makes these beautiful glittery cakes in Melbourne, and her Instagram account has blown up since she started playing with the unicorn theme.
“I think people love it because unicorns are such magical and dreamy creatures,” says Chandra. “They’re not real of course, but that's the fun part!”
“It's a fun design to create, there is no right or wrong because it all based on your imagination.”
Which is why you can also find unicorn drinks and pancakes:
Thailand even opened its very own Unicorn Cafe late last year, where all the food is rainbow and unicorn themed, and toy unicorns sit with you while you eat.
Finally, if you can't decide if you want unicorn cake or unicorn biscuits, have both:
"If you’re turning up your nose at what seems like an unlikely marriage, try it first. The combination of earthy beets, bitter with smoky dark chocolate and slightly salty cream cheese is heavenly! Totally Unicorn is a heavy metal band and my brother-in-law, Mikey, is their illustrious drummer. Whenever they go on tour and stay with us, this is what they get for supper after a night of intense head banging." Poh Ling Yeow, Poh & Co.
