Bruny Island Cheese Company is owned and managed by Nick Haddow who produces traditional, artisan cheeses. Made with both cow’s and goat’s milk, with a focus on environmental sustainability and farming practices that produce the best milk possible, Nick’s cheeses are renowned as being some of the finest  artisan cheeses in Australia.  The 'cellar door’ of the cheesery is open Tuesdays to Sundays and so is the cafe attached to it. The cafe menu includes cheese platters but also organic sourdough bread straight from Nick Haddow’s wood-fired oven.

Tongola is roughly translated as 'hut in the mountains'. Ester and Hans Stutz have become well-known in Tasmania for their handmade fresh and washed-rind goat cheeses and have established their own herd of goats to produce four different types of cheeses. Tongola make fresh cheeses called Curdly and Capris; a white-mould cheese called Bloom, and a washed-rind cheese called Billy.

No direct sales. Tongola supply delicatessens and restaurants in Hobart. E-mail for list of outlets.

The Taste of Tasmania Festival provides festival goers with 7 glorious days to sample Tasmania's fine produce, wines, famous brews and regional culinary delights while enjoying arts, cultural and sporting activities at this premier summer event.

Taste of Tasmania Festival commences 28 December and concludes 3 January 2010.
