In Luang Prabang, Luke explores the city’s fresh produce markets and unique cottage industries, trying his hand at making buffalo patties in the rain. Getting on the river, Luke learns the banks of the Mekong River are as fertile as its waters. Here, he visits a local family who harvest peanuts in the sandy banks of the Mekong. Heading to the Nam Khan River, a tributary of the Mekong, Luke learns to fish the river with a father-and-son team before cooking lunch on the river’s bank. Luke discovers the finer side of Luang Prabang’s cuisine at a fine-dining restaurant and then takes it back to his roots, barbecuing stuffed peppers at the bustling night market.
