Halloween special: Which pumpkin personality are you?

The year’s most ghoulish weekend is almost upon us (Hello Halloween and Day of the Dead!), so we thought we’d give trick-or-treat a twist. Pick your pumpkin personality type and we’ll reward you with a Mexican treat to match your partying intentions.

1. The polaroid-snapping pumpkin

Calling all analogue-istas, pumpkin carving is one of those nana arts bound to make a resurgence amongst the pickling, jamming and gingerbread house-making. We bestow you with another quaint creation: homemade fudge. This Mexican specialty, known as jamoncillo de leche, makes a neat edible gift, if you don’t eat it all first.

2. The joker of a pumpkin

A Class A trickster, you love scaring Halloweeners (including tiny tots!) with your party pranks. For you, we present tamarind and chili ice blocks. Easily mistaken for caramel, these pops are sweet, sour and hella spicy all in one.

3. The sugar skull pumpkin

Halloween is way mainstream, so you prefer dressing in Día de los Muertos costume. That means frills, flowers and a dainty, skeleton-painted face. It seems only fitting you feast on the brioche-style pan de muertos (bread of the dead), plus a cup of Mexican hot chocolate.

Twist that frown upside-down! No matter your age or pumpkin proclivity, Halloween can be a hoot if you only let it. To give you the festive feels, here’s a jug of Mexican-style beer Bloody Mary.
