--- Enjoy a 'Tasty Bakes' marathon from 5pm weeknights, 5-30 June on SBS Food, with episodes also available at SBS On Demand. The season includes Bake with Anna Olson, Martha Bakes, Nadiya's Everyday Baking, Nadiya Bakes, Baking It Easy and baking episodes from Mary Makes it Easy. There's also more baking inspiration in Anna's Occasions, Thursday nights on SBS Food and also at SBS On Demand. See the program guide for full details of show times.  ---

Six women who love to bake and want you to love it too are on SBS Food this month, from Nadiya Husain and Anna Olson to Donna Hay and Martha Stewart – and what better time to get inspired and turn on the oven (or settle in on the couch for some baking inspiration!) than now. The weather’s getting cooler and being indoors is appealing, making this the perfect time to try some new recipes. From the simple comfort of the oven in use warming up your kitchen and spreading enticing aromas through your home to the satisfaction of baking something to enjoy or share, there’s a lot to enjoy as SBS Food shares three weeks of ‘Tasty Bakes’, from 5pm every weeknight starting 5 June. Familiar faces Martha Stewart, Nadiya Hussain, Anna Olson and Mary Berg are joined by author, actress and podcaster Meghan Rienks in the weeknight line-up, while Donna Hay is on screen in Everyday Fresh at 8pm Wednesday nights from 14 June, with recipes including her fudgy chocolate cake.

Whether you’re a beginner baker or you’re keen to rise to the challenge (baking pun totally intended) of a sourdough loaf or a three-layer cake masterpiece, whether you want the comfort of 'happiness brownies' (thank you Nadiya Hussain!) or you want some savoury baking ideas, there’s something for everyone in June.

You want bakes for the lunchbox and biscuit tin

Nadiya Hussain's love of baking stretches back many years, and she knows how to have fun in the kitchen. In Nadiya Bakes, she makes these choc-dipped florentines, perfect for the biscuit tin, or to give as a gift.

Put Martha Stewart's oatcake bars on your to-bake list. Very easy to make and delicious think Anzac biscuit meets oat cake meets muesli bar. You can see her make those and a whole range of other great recipes in Martha Bakes, the show that will be starting each night's line-up of baking.

A baked breakfast is calling your name

Mary Berg, who'll be part of the third week of Tasty Bakes, and is also on screen in Mary Makes it Easy on Sunday evenings on SBS Food and at SBS On Demand, has some great ideas for baked breakfasts, like this cinnamon coffee cake with roast fruit (perfect for the weekend, or a brunch gathering).

Or bake up a batch of her chocolate almond granola - great for breakfast, and for a homemade gift, too.

You want all the chocolate things

If you are thinking of five-star brownies, cast your eyes at Nadiya Hussain's 'money can't buy happiness' brownies (we call them happiness brownies, for short!). "I have this saying that money can't buy you happiness, but brownies can," she says, explaining the name of this recipe, which she makes in Nadiya Bakes.

For peanut butter fans, Anna Olson's chocolate peanut butter truffle cups, which she shares in Bake with Anna Olson as part of the 'Tasty Bakes' weeknight line-up, combine two of her favourite flavours.

We have so many more great chocolate ideas, including many marvellous bakes, in the chocolate recipe collection and of course the chocolate cake and brownie collections.

Pastry for beginners, pastry for pros

If you're after an easy pastry recipe that's beginner friendly, try Mary Berg's chocolate cherry galette. It's the forgiving pie where it doesn't matter at all if the pastry breaks when you fold it or things look rustic  it's meant to!

Or if you're looking to try something new, Martha Stewart devotes an episode to impressive pastries made with her Danish pastry dough, including a plaited brown sugar-cinnamon Danish round, which will feed up to 12 people. A perfect centrepiece for a brunch or other gathering.

You're after clever ideas

In Baking It Easy, a four-part series, actress and podcaster Meghan Rienke uses a biscuit cutter to create a pretty top for her deep-dish cherry pie.  "You don't have to spend time braiding or doing a lattice for it to look really professional and awesome. I think this kind of looks better than a lot of and it's way, way, way, way easier," she says.

Nadiya Hussains's sprinkle butter babka loaf is both clever and so much fun!

You're in the mood for a savoury bake

It's time for a celebration cake

Anna Olson says her luscious lemon coconut cake – four layers of cake with a lemon-coconut filling and iced with a rich vanilla buttercream – is her favourite choice for her own birthday. Another great recipe from Bake With Anna Olson, It's perfect for all kinds of special occasions.
This is a perfect cake to make as a special occasion cake – an ideal birthday cake for a lover of all things lemon. Just an inside tip – it is my favourite choice for my own birthday…just in case you needed to know

Anna Olson will be on SBS Food in not just one, but two shows in June. Along with Bake with Anna Olson, she's also sharing lots of celebration and special occasion bakes on Anna's Occasions, Thursday nights on SBS Food and also at SBS On Demand.  Among them, are great celebration cakes including a classic wedding cake, a salted caramel layer cake and this confetti sprinkle birthday cake, layers of white velvet cake with colourful sprinkles throughout, and a silky boiled milk frosting, which you can make any colour you like using your choice of food colouring.
