Silvia visits an 18th-century palace in Vasto, which was linked to one of the most famous Italian royal families, the D’Avolos.
Episode 5 - Where Ernest Hemmingway drinks caffé
Silvia delights in teaching us a thing or two about Caffé Meletti, one of Italy’s most beautiful Italian coffee houses, frequented by the likes of Ernest Hemmingway back in the day. Today this Art Deco building is considered to be one of Italy’s national treasures.
Episode 6 - How the beloved Vespa got its name
Silvia attends the annual Sulmona Vespa Rally where approximately 300 lovers of all things Vespa congregate. We discover that the locals here have more to celebrate revealing that the Vespa’s very own inventor was from the area.
Episode 7 - The evil baron of castle Roccascalegna
Only a few kilometres away from Torricella Peligna (Silvia’s mother’s beloved home town), stands a self-imposing medieval castle. Known for it’s a dark legend pertaining to the Baron Corvo de' Corvis, we visit inside the castle to discover a number of other surprises.

Silvia reminisces about her days spent in this wondrous city that is known for its love of arts, culture, opera and the Miglia Mille (Thousand Mile) vintage car event.

Here we explore inside the walls of the old historic centre of Termoli. We also discover the mark that was left by one of the most powerful Roman Emperors of the Middle Ages, Frederick II.
