People are loving refreshing new social media trend #WatermelonDress

If there's been an influx of people on your timelines 'wearing' slices of watermelon, this is why.

Social media users are readily jumping on board the new hashtag trend, the #WatermelonDress.

To take part, you take bites out of a melon slice to create a tiny, pink and green bespoke item of clothing, and hold it up in front of someone and snap a photo, so it looks like they are wearing it.

There's really no creative rules to the game. Some users are using the classic triangular slice as their dress, while others are getting very creative with dress design, even making overalls or suits.

The trend has recently been picking up steam, with thousands of people taking part across the world.
