Whether you call it coriander or cilantro, there's one thing for sure: some love it and some hate it. For those who do love this divisive herb, there's a world of delicious recipes out there - here are some of our favourites at SBS Food (including some sweet surprises!)
The "harra" in the name of this dish refers to the colour, with harra or hara meaning green in Hindi, and a vividly green dish it is (the trick is to cook the dish without a lid, which will help to retain the colour). This dish is a North Indian favourite, with the freshness of coriander and mint and background notes of spices.

Coriander is joined by mint, chilli and garlic to make the punchy sauce that takes star billing in this dish alongside chunky barbecued tandoori cauliflower slices.

This instant ramen pancake is a fun recipe – flavoured by a lively ginger-coriander oil, the noodles are pan-fried until a crispy crust forms. Top generously with fresh coriander leaves to add extra punch.

This quick, saucy stir-fry from Adam Liaw is full of flavour, and if you love coriander, you'll be happy to know it uses a big bunch of coriander roots, stems and leaves.

In this recipe from Matthew Evans, the walnut and coriander sauce can be made a day ahead, and the fish is served at room temperature, so it's a great make-ahead dish dish for busy days.

Using the thigh of the chicken makes for a more tender curry, marinated in a fresh, homemade lemongrass and coconut paste. The dish is topped with a red onion, coriander and papaya salsa for a burst of freshness.

"Coriander is one of the most important herbs in Mexican cuisine and in this recipe we use it in a way that pays homage to the Mexican culture in a modern way," says Alejandro Huerta of his recipe, a mix of a poke and a Mexican ceviche.

The double coriander in this recipe comes from a tablespoon of ground coriander seeds, and entire fresh coriander plants. The coriander stalks and roots are stir-fried first, to add extra fragrance.

Make these deliciously crispy pakora with any crunchy veggies you have on hand, and serve with a coriander, mint, ginger, chilli and yoghurt dipping sauce. It's a punchy and crunchy combination made for coriander-lovers!
