Gabriel discovers the best gourmet specialities in each region of the 21 stages of this amazing race. He visits century-old markets and outstanding restaurants and features cheeses and wines that have been made in the same manner for three or four hundred years.
In 2016 the Tour starts in the iconic and picturesque small tidal island of Mont Saint Michel on the Normandy Coast and Gabriel discovers the local seafood and specialities.
After two days in Normandy Gabriel is thrilled to stop in his native region of the Loire Valley, famous for its royal châteaux. Over the next eighteen days Gabriel meets talented artisans, including pâtissiers (pastry cooks), boulangers (bakers), vignerons (wine makers) and, of course, some wonderful cuisiniers (chefs).

After having trained as a chef in France forty years ago with some of the great French Master Chefs, Gabriel firmly believes France is the most exciting country in the world for food. In each segment he cooks a superb French dish that features the speciality of the region. Some dishes are ancient, while others are modern and exotic.
Gabriel knows France intimately and has chosen for his stories some stunning scenery in each region, including a number of the most historic and picturesque French villages.
