Love is powered by Nutella. We all know that. It’s science*.
So with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, of course there's all sorts of kitchen creativity happening, inspired by the choc-hazelnut spread.
In fact, Michele Ferrero, the creator of Nutella, died on Valentine’s Day 2015. So it seems fitting that folks are honouring February 14 with his beloved Italian condiment.
Here are some of the wonderful people on the internet who have coupled Nutella's versatility with their own innovative spirit to create beyond-delicious Valentine’s Day-themed desserts.
Nutella tacos

A dessert taco is a thing of beauty. Deep fried soft taco shells are coated in cinnamon and sugar before blogger Katie’s Cucina fills them with strawberries, Nutella, and whipped cream. Of course, you can get creative and fill your taco shells with whatever fruit you like.
Farinata topped with homemade Nutella

This Italian chickpea pancake makes the perfect cakey companion to some homemade Nutella. Melt chocolate buttons, add olive oil and a generous heaping of hazelnut paste, and it’s just as good as the store bought stuff!
Nutella and pistachio barfee

Barfee is a butter fudge dessert popular in India. Though most barfee is flavoured by coconut or almond, there are a few daring souls amongst us (like blogger Jagruti’s Cooking Odyssey) who’ve trialled the Nutella barfee with great success.
Chocolate, condensed milk, butter, topped with chopped pistachios seems like a perfect combination to us, too.
*it's not science.
