Friday treats are ultra accessible this week, with Uber offering to ferry ice-cream to various locations around Australia.
Those in need of a sugar fix – but who can’t be bothered to foot it over to their closest 7/11 or gelateria - will be able to order tubs of creamy goodness delivered to their door. You'll have to pay for the privilege of course, with $15 getting you a half-litre tub in one of three flavours created by celebrity chefs.
Matt Moran’s banoffee crunch is on offer alongside a spiced cookie and caramel swirl by Neil Perry and caramel and walnut baklava smash by Masterchef's George Calombaris.
The initiative is in partnership with Australian charity OzHarvest so that for every tub purchased, five meals will be pledged to feed people in need.
Orders are being taken from 11am and you can head to the Uber website to find the locations they deliver to.
While the NSW, Western Australian, Tasmanian and South Australian state governments have moved to legalise the ride-sharing service - and a court ruling in Uber's favour in Victoria has seen it operate somewhat legally in that state despite not yet being regulated - Uber is still illegal in Queensland.
Nevertheless, the oragnisation's website in promising to deliver in five Queensland areas including Brisbane, Cairns and the Gold Coast.
