Tandoor oven

A clay oven used for cooking and baking that typically uses charcoal or wood fire. Temperatures in a tandoor oven can get extremely high and it is common for them to remain lit for a long time. 'Tandoori' refers to dishes cooked in the tandoor and includes such popular South Asian dishes as Tandoori chicken, chicken tikka and breads such as tandoori roti and naan. 

Tawa

A heavy cast-iron sheet that looks similar to a griddle that is used to make breads such as chappatis, rotis and parathas.

Karahi

A heavy, deep pan usually made of cast-iron that looks like a wok but is heavier. It is mainly used for deep-frying.
