For those who want to celebrate International Bacon Day all day on September 1, here are some sweet ways to have bacon for dessert. Or justify dessert for breakfast...

1. Are you bacon me a cake?

Let's get in the mood. For those who really love bacon, some inspiration:
Think of it as bacon cake on a smaller scale. You could just sandwich crispy, juicy bacon in a sliced doughnut... but the combination of maple syrup, crispy bacon bits and springy home-made doughnuts really takes this sweet combo to new levels.

A star line-up: candied bacon, crushed shortbread cookies, fried bananas, toffee caramel and chocolate ganache.

4. Of course, there are bacon roses...

It's that maple and bacon magic marriage again. Poppin' good.

When you’re making brownies, there’s no need to mess around. Pack as much crunchy goodness as you can in there to contrast with the gooey fudgy cakey bit. The stout gives this recipe a rich smoky flavour that paves the way for the bacon perfectly.
