London has jumped on the toast trend - yes, toast has been on the rise and rise, think dedicated books, events, cafes and more - and is hosting its very own toast-themed dance party.
The event kicks off with a “toast-ally awesome quiz”, then guests partake in a toast construction competition where they are judged on creativity, building skills, team spirit and dance moves. It’s a team event, so friends (or team mates) are required. Each team gets their own toaster and a selection of loaves. They then get two hours to build something bread-i-ful.
Taking place at Drink Shop & Do, the officially named “House of Toast” will also have a DJ spinning tunes while you create something incredible out of something edible. All the competitions involve prizes too.
It's a great opportunity to shake your buns while creating toast-ally amazing masterpieces of art, like this one:
We can't all head to London, but not to worry, the toast trend is everywhere.
If you’re a lover of the loaf but not a dancer or artfully crafty you can visit a toast café or bar instead. There’s Crompton Coffee and Maillard in Melbourne, or Red Door, Acre Coffee and The Mill in the US.
If you want a night in that’s far from crumby try a book about toast. You could read Better on Toast, The Little Book of Toast Tips, Posh Toast or Toast: The Cookbook.
You can do something really great for the world (and your taste buds) by purchasing Works on Toast, which is a cookbook devoted to delicious toppings on toast. All proceeds from sales go to Nepal, helping the United Nation’s World Food Program after the April 2015 earthquake.
If you want toasty fashion and accessories there are toast-themed shoulder bags, toasty coasters, toast-themed backpacks or a toast jacket.
Here's an idea; why not dress in toast-themed clothes and accessories, head to a toast-themed eatery to read your book about toast while eating toast. Couldn't think of anything "butter".
The toast building dance party is on 15 July 2016, starting at 7pm and is for Over-18's only.
