If there were ever an ‘Australian Sweets Hall Of Fame’ erected, Allen’s lollies would surely occupy prime position. Few kids growing up in Australia escaped primary school without at least a few sore tummies as a consequence of eating too many killer pythons.
Perhaps one of the most iconic line of Allen’s lollies (who’re we kidding – they’re all pretty iconic), the fruit and cream variety, is due for a shakeup in in 2018. Allen’s are introducing three brand new Fruit & Cream flavours, and it’s up to you, dear sweet-toothed reader, to have your say and pick the winner.
Choose between not-too-sweet, not-too-tart Green Apple & Cream, velvety Blackberry & Cream or the flavour that has SBS Food HQ most excited about, Yuzu & Cream – three flavours the Allen’s team have been perfecting for months. Only one flavour can join the ranks alongside the tried-and-tested Strawberries and Peaches; the winner will be included in an all new Fruits & Cream mix to be released and available for purchase anywhere you normally find Allen’s lollies later this year.
“We know our fans are extremely passionate about being involved in the lollies we create, so we’re calling on them to have their say and vote for the Alien’s Fruit & Cream Of The Crop,” says Nestlé General Manager Confectionery Martin Brown. Passionate is right. This is arguably the most important this we’ll vote on all year.

Voting opens on Monday January 15 at allenslollies.com.au/vote, and closes the following week, Monday January 22 at 1 pm. The triumphant flavour will be announced on the Allen’s Facebook page on Tuesday January 23.
